Thanks for your feedback John Bestevaar. While there are many perspectives, one way to think about marketplace lending is as a mechanism to allow those with assets (e.g. mutual funds) to lend directly to consumers without needing bank capital. Consumer lending and regulation since the crisis has been a balancing act between making sure it never happens again and that Americans get the credit they need when they need it.
