I agree with a lot of what you said in the article. I consider myself to be a pretty ardent and even at times, sort of an extreme leftist. That said, I do want to say and admit that I have often had a hard time with a lot of the online feminism community says. Gamer-gate was an absolute disaster, and Anita Sarkeesian helped to ruin and disenfranchise a lot of any complaints about gaming or the tech world that may have been legitimate, but most of that simply wasn’t. I don’t discount there are gender issues in the job world but I think a case can be made that it is more one of class struggle, race issues, rather than gender issues. The head of our Dept. my network Administrator is a woman and has been in the tech field for a long time, I know this is simply anecdotal, but she always laughs when she hears people saying that there “aren’t enough women in tech” because women definitely could and are definitely welcome to come into this field. Whether societal impulses are to blame to shifts of interest in this regard are debatable but is that an ultimate sinister misogynist construct? Eh, I think that is pushing it.
