Cloud Atlas is one of my favorite all time books. I think you’ll be surprised at how much more sense the film makes with the book as a resource. The story is sprawling, complex, and ultimately human. You’ll love it. Also, have you read The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. It has sci-fi elements, and is an exceptional read.
