I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one to use my recommends this way on Medium. Sometimes I agree with what I read, sometimes I don’t. But that’s never been my deciding factor of whether or not I would recommend what others write.

What would the world be like if we only listened to people who agree with us? (Scary thought, but it looks like we’re moving in that direction…)

For me, recommending something means I think what I read is worthwhile for others to consider and that can be for any number of reasons. Now that it’s called ‘clapping’, that distinction becomes more convoluted. I’m glad the mobile version still only has recommends.
