For those of us with an opposing viewpoint, something that often gets overlooked when comparing the US to other countries is the size of those countries and the amount of high quality broadband cities. For instance, people often refer to something like the chart in your article which show the best broadband US city is well down the list across the world. But the point I want to make is if you look at the same chart, the US is the only country on there with several cities. And on top of that those cities are thousands of miles apart. There is no doubt that other countries have created one or two broadband infrastructures that are superior to anything in the US, but no one can compete with the US in terms of volume of broadband sold over hundreds and even thousands of miles.
This aside, I think we could make more progress with honest conversations and questions with each other, with the condition that we work together to make the Internet more affordable and accessible for everyone.
