Good work Chris. There is a disconnect between rural and urban ideas about agriculture, and a disconnect between present and past methods of food production. When I was growing up I was taught the imperative of sustainable farming as a means of ensuring the viability of the farm. Those that taught me learned to farm in an age without refrigeration, and a dependance on the seasonal availability of the food they ate.
