Take Action Dont Delay

Maybe you wanted to work on something new, or maybe you wanted to read some books. Maybe you wanted to cook the leftover food in the fridge or do some exercises. In the last four weeks, how many times have you planned what to do, and end up doing nothing?

If you cannot count how many times, then you are a victim of your excuses.

All of us go through this on a daily basis. Even though I already have routines in place, that still happens to me a lot of occasions. Whether I am tired, or stressed, or realizing that the plan is not yet complete, or entertaining the thought that I cannot do it, I am only limited by my excuses.

There is no escape unless you start taking action. Even if you don’t want to do it yet, just do it. Delaying the task for later will only make it harder to start. Not only does it waste time, but it also wastes your energy.

From my observation, the law of inertia applies. An object at rest stays at rest, while an object in motion remains in motion unless acted upon by an exterior force. And it is easier to move an object that is already on the move due to its momentum.

This theory applies to how you do work. It is a lot easier to continue moving when you are already moving towards the direction you want to go to. There is no such thing as a perfect plan. A perfect plan is the most important ingredient of inaction. Instead of focusing on making the plan fool-proof, take baby steps.

Do the work.

Doing the work allows you to become less scared. As you continue to experience small successes and failures, you learn to do things better and grow faster. Once you have started doing physical work towards your goal, you become more in control of things, and it becomes easier to churn out more outputs. Things start to flow more naturally.

Do not delay. Take action now.
