Consistency is going to be key

In some aspects, it’s a new year and a new start, but in others, it’s very much more of the same. We’re in 2021 but to me, it feels like we have very much rolled out of our 2020 bed and rolled right into 2021.

Nevertheless, for those of us in the UK, I think we by now have gotten acclimatized to lockdowns, our ever changing tiers, and our general new way of living.

Our UK national lockdown is expected to be lifted by mid-Feb, I for one am hopeful that we at least return to tier 3, for the mental health and well-being of the population who are yearning to see their family, friends and just spend more time in social settings.

Finding a healthy and consistent routine is going to be critical to making it out the other side as unscathed as possible when some of our creature comforts return, for me it’s not necessarily about being in my best form when I get to mid-Feb, but I will be making a conscious effort to get as close as possible.

For me, I thrive off of momentum and keeping the activitytrain going, if something throws me off course, it’s really difficult for me to get back on track and often takes days at a time to get back into my mojo. External accountability is also pivotal for me to keep up a good work ethic, the self-awareness of knowing I perform best with these components in my life is what has helped me be happier when results do come, and more at peace with myself when things aren’t going right because I know one of these things, are likely to be missing.

What will you be doing in January to stay consistent and congruent with your goals? Have you made New Years resolutions? Have they been broken already?

Let me know in the comments.
