#AWSreInvent23 — My Key Learnings☁️🚀
This is my 2nd post from AWS re:Invent 2023. You can find the others here — the 1st post and the 3rd post
At re:Invent 2023, there were hundreds of sessions, breakout sessions, and chalk sessions. At re:Invent my focus was primarily on security and much more recently, on data management.
A standout moment was a joint session that had Ted Suszczynski from Viasat on Hybrid Cloud Storage, showcasing real-time data applications on the edge and how they relate to and tie into the AWS infrastructure.
I also enjoyed the Keynotes from luminaries like Peter DeSantis who made new announcements of services including Amazon Aurora Limitless Database, Amazon ElastiCache Serverless, and Amazon Redshift Serverless (Yes serverless for ElastiCache and Redshift — Oh the possibilities). In addition to Peter’s session, there was a presentation by Brent Rich on how AWS is used at Riot Games and the scale is simply massive, taking full advantage of AWS’ extensive services and global presence.
I also caught up on Dr. Werner Vogels Keynote and I like the Intro from the Frugal Architect (https://lnkd.in/emMbxRzN). This keynote set the stage for a deep dive into the world of resilient architecture and cloud networking. Of course, there were major announcements and the keynote featured several customer speakers. One last session I will highlight was a session for Nonprofits hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) for #NonProfits where we had a chalkboard session. It was great to meet different #NonProfits taking advantage of the AWS Global Infrastructure. During the chalk session we got to draw some architectural diagrams (who doesn’t like some architectural diagrams) to simulate the architectures of some of the participating #NonProfits
In addition, the expo echoed with the latest in information and Data Security, providing a panoramic view of industry trends.
At the expo, I stopped by different booths, particularly the security Vendors, and it was great to see the scope of their products and how they add on the AWS infrastructure. these not only expanded my knowledge but embedded a profound understanding of the evolving landscape of Cloud Security. ☁️🚀 | 🔒🔐
