An Easy Way To Become A Good Conversationalist
Conversation is a two way process. To be a good conversationalist, one should be a better listener. But if you never listen to anyone for long, talk about yourself only and interrupt the other person in the middle, then for sure, you are not going to have a real good impression and will leave other people annoying. So listening is very important in any conversation to make it effective. Careful listening also helps you in getting out of uncomfortable situation both in daily life as well as in business life. It helps in dealing different situations and winning other people hearts by just giving attention and appreciation to them. And if you did not even speak up more, you will be considered as a very good conversationalist.
So the point is if you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener. To be interesting, be interested. Ask questions that other persons will enjoy answering. Encourage them to talk about themselves and their accomplishments because people love to talk about their accomplishments and experiences. You can also use this acronym RASA; receive, appreciate, summarize and ask. So RASA basically means paying attention and listening carefully to the person; appreciating him or her by making little noises like “hmm”, “oh”, “okay”; also using the word “so” in the conversation; and asking questions afterwards. I think this is the royal road for everyone to become a good conversationalist and I am following the same as well.
