RATTLE ON.
A rattle here, and a rattle there,
The way, with empty strips, so bare.
The moon above, and the lights below,
Reflections from the undertow.
The breeze it flows and ebbs along
The rattle, with it’s tune, sing-song
Another stop, another go,
Another one to carry home.
The night is quiet, and the climb, uphill
I rattle on, and I rattle still.
A story from the man alone,
A story of his highs and lows,
The tracks, they move, and he does too,
If only they had a clue.
The stop is gone, you missed your chance!
Thinking too much? In a trance?
Lost his job, lost his home,
Find a seat, we’ll take it slow.
Few more days till the rent is due?
You’ll figure it out, don’t be blue.
I run all day, dusk, or dawn
Worry not, there’s a stop for you.
Just sit back, and listen to the tune,
Hypnotic it is, my voice, a’new.
If you want to go, just tell me where,
A rattle here, and a rattle there.
