Today I decided to challenge myself since no worst enemy than mysyelf and most of the time it is my own mind that paralyze from taking action which so unstoic.

This morning I slept at 5 and woke up at 9 and fortunately the last episode of Game of Thrones hasn’t played yet. Even when I watched the last episode, my mind already making some scenario regarding what might happen this afternoon.

The worst case scenario of course I lost again to myself and making excuse to simply take another round of nap. But after happily watched the blue flame burning The Wall — the supposedly mightiest defense in Seven Kingdoms against the undead threat got so easily razed to the ground I think not this time.

So I took a bath and fighting my own excuse which often use time as reason. I hate when people being late and I don’t want to commit the same sin.

Again, I play another scenario of going with on-line transportation or the usual public transportation which often unreliable.

First I tried Go-Jek one of the three unicorn from Indonesia, but due to a problem which now I think should be the next feature from Go-Jek I took the public transportation.

And if you wonder what is the feature, it’s built messaging and not employing the stock SMS app.

Problem happened with me was the signal of second number which I registered to Go-Jek got lost. And eventhough I didn’t want to cancel it, I had to.

Trip to Dago

I changed the public transportation three times since there is no route directly passed my destination.

The first car, I met with several mothers who are going home after picking up their kids from school. I noticed the uniform vest wore by the children. Not something common back in my days and I can’t even read the badge which supposedly mentioning their school name.

I can’t remember their discussion anymore but the only sentence I can still recall is when one of the mother mentioned some kind of snack flavor. It seems that the green tea flavor which swept Bandung several years ago already cooled down.

The day was too hot. Or perhaps I too seldom get out that once I left the house it feels extreme.

One thing I noticed while riding on the third car is how enjoyable life in Bandung: you could eat Nasi Kuning while sitting on the sidewalk and chitchatting with your friend. Although it might be unpleasant to do when the traffic is too heavy, but one morning or afternoon watching people get busy on the road is something nice to do.

I also noticed that PDAM mosque is destroyed which I have small connection but still uneasy to see it like that.

At Dago

First thing to do of course going to the bathroom because I am still sleepy and to prep my mental to face several foreigner. Usually the event held on the first floor but this time not.

Again, the demon comes. I could easily avoid meeting these people with the excuse of not seeing them at the first attempt. But I thought no.

Asking the receptionist, I got info that it is held on second floor.

Oke Nawir you can do it, I said to myself.

I climbed the stairs and thank God there is mas Yud smiled to me which relieved me from some discomfort. I sat for a while before I gave my seat to mas Yud’s mom. I can never let elder people stand while I sit.

Many interesting stories I heard but more stories I can’t understand since I basically illiterate in programming.

I now know that Ruby on Rails is not the same as Ruby itself. RoR is more of framework while Ruby is the language, and Go-Jek’s CTO will never accept people who cannot differentiate both things. Aside from the unicorn, BukaLapak also employed RoR.

And there will be a Ruby conference this year in BukaLapak’s office in Jakarta for two days.

And I succeed to conquer my fear of introducing myself to new people. The bonus is I met with a pretty girl which works with mas Yud in Kolla.

Let’s visit their coworking space someday. :)
