US and USsr
Its kind of challenge writting in english but I will try. It will be kind of challenge cause I’m a resident of Kyrgyz Republic and the post is about Soviet and American ;)
Anyway yesterday evening we’ve got a flame information, it was really brilliant. I will try to share. Its about big gap between “our doing business” and “american doing business”. I haven’t ever been to US and USSR, but I will write as I feel in my shoes. As for young entreprenuer in greenhouse business.
- MindSet. Yes, its logic and actual. Into Soviet people group I can absolutely include my mindset cause the last 22 years I was surrounded by Soviet Influence. In everything. So in our economy books the indicators of succed business was the number of wokers, yes number of workers. Even in the movies, “we created the job for one thousand something people” and so on.

In Am Mindset it is not cool when you have so huge number of doing something people, it is non efficient. People work not for working, people work for creating something better. They even pay per hour, not per month, do you feel the differences in method? If the technology can do job better -use technology!Create the system and have 4 people in company, this is really cool!
2. Ending Mind
When they start morning meetings in office (they do so), they start from the end. Like what do we want to get at the end of day? month?year? century?Then the strategy goes on how to get it effective and positive, naturally. It seems very simple but its the principle of work. Now you can say about 5year plans in Soviet Time, but was it really natural, was it really coming from the needs?I’m not sure.
3. Big figures
The fear. A centure of fear. A fear of numbers. I’m just writting about my feelings inside. I really had a big fear of dreaming with big numbers. It is paradox, big country, little dreams. may be it was cool. But is lies inside us and blocks, blocks forming the ideas. For global thinking and local acting I have to write indicators firstufull, I just need to let it go. And fix it. Try to fix.
4. Emotional
I cant say that in USSR were not any emotions, they were. But a bit different, because of history, may be. Now I’m talking about doing business culture. Here was no business, it was above the law. So we like the childs doing first steps, and we are learning and triyng to find out our way. Its good. But Am did huge job before us, and we can just look through how it was, save our time and make our growth faster using great researches on emotional component in prodact sales( 99%).
5. Tunnel
We are masters of doing everything very difficult. Finding absolutely unreal ways to make the ideas impossinble to realize, in our mind sure.

Like if Am teenager will create the solve for someones problem, he will go and test the idea, he will ask his friends, try to sell and get the ffedback, make it better and then sell. What does Sov teens do? Ok, it will solve his problem, but I have to tell Mom, then think, then what people say and think, how I will sell it, OMG a lot of “hows”. With NO actions. Here you can imagine the logo and slogan of NIKE.
7. Customer Service
You know what I mean. I wount even write ab it :D
