I could be wrong, but from my perspective this problem is getting better, and was way worse a few years ago.

Dribbble invites used to be a scarce and valuable thing to come by. I remember going to parties in SF and people would ask “are you on Dribbble?” as a way of sizing you up. I’d get random job inquiries just for having a profile with not-horrible work (I never put that much effort into Dribbble).

Now? You don’t hear about Dribbble all that much. I think it’s perceived by most to be more for illustration / graphic design, rather than product design. It probably peaked in 2012 or 2013.

Of course, it could be that I just shifted my own attention and I’m oblivious to the larger trends.

I’m curious to hear what more people think: is this getting better, or worse?
