That being said, as much as I love podcasts, I’m not I agree with this:

Video is undeniably sexy. Print endures. But humans need audio. From our earliest days around the tribal fire, we passed down information through stories told — not seen or read.

I never really listened to much radio or audiobooks. It’s only in the past couple years that I’ve gotten into podcasts. Do I need audio? Not really. I mostly listen to podcasts when I’m walking or doing the dishes, and only sometimes seek it out specifically when I could be doing something else.

Also, campfire storytelling can be highly visual :) Lots of gestures and facial expressions. Sometimes costumes. Watching a video of someone talking is probably closer to that experience.
