I know that this was meant tongue-in-cheek (in a great post). But being a stepmom is a really hard job. It’s not like being an auntie because you’ve got to live with the kids, at least part time. That means that you have to deal with all of the issues of having children, but you’re not the biological Mom. And then there’s the dynamics created by the fact that the kids have to share their Father with you. Good stepmoms are the most underappreciated of people.
