I would not make such a blanket statement about security and HTTPS.
One of the questions I get asked fairly often is “What sets nderground apart from other social networks?” A core feature that differentiates nderground from other social networks is that nderground built for privacy. You and your group of friends and family, not the whole Internet.
If we didn’t support HTTPS and we didn’t have good security, we would fail to deliver on a core feature. So we use HTTPS (even though it is a big pain) and we have implemented a variety of security features. That doesn’t mean nderground can’t be hacked, but we’ve tried to make nderground as hard a target as we can.
