Silicon Valley does have a strange world view. Experience is denigrated and discounted.

If someone where hiring a firm to build a billion dollar suspension bridge, would they hire a company composed of nothing but twenty-somethings right out of their University programs? Probably not. Even with modern design tools and structural engineering, experience is critical. Yet this is the choice made when it comes to designing software.
