This is a great answer to the current odeous fad of “unlimited vacation”. By describing time off as mandatory there’s a good chance that people will take the time. Presumably this establishes a culture where people take time to recharge.
Now if Axiom Zen took a page from Basecamp and supported remote work, that would be even better. You might also find that it’s easier to recruit high quality, experienced engineers.
