You’re right, we do miss an important element without in-person human interaction.

There’s a bookstore in Menlo Park, California named Kepler’s Books. They started out as a used and new book store. I used to go there as a kid looking for science fiction books. I will always have fond memories of hours spent at Keplers.

I do buy a lot of books and other stuff on Amazon, but these days most of my Amazon bills are for Amazon Web Services which supports nderground.
