You can admire some of the characteristics that people people exhibit, without admiring the person, as a whole.

I admire the brilliance of Julius Caesar, but I also think that he was a megalomaniac and psychopath. All great politicians have great virtues and huge faults. They are, by their very nature, larger than life individuals.

We are not used to seeing these characteristics displayed so nakedly in women, as we see them displayed in the character of Clair Underwood.
