Important Things you should know about CAT Exam and CAT Colleges

CAT which is also known as “Common Admission Exam” which is conducted by IIMs. It is one of the most popular exam that is given by more than 80% of the MBA aspirants so that they can get admission in to their dream Business school. It is given by more than 2 lakh students and it is computer based test for admission in a graduate management program. The exam is for three hours.

It includes 3 sections:

1. Quantitative aptitude

2. Verbal ability

3. Logical reasoning

The exam comprises of 100 questions. Last year, IIM had made certain changes in the exam pattern; they introduced TITA (Type in type answer) type questions. The exam is conducted all over India and students are assigned different centers depending upon the location they opt for during submitting their cat registration form. The exam is held in the last week of November. The eligibility criterion for CAT is 50 percent marks or equivalent CG PA from a recognized university.

After filling the CAT registration form students have to apply for the colleges that accept the CAT score by filling a form. The form registration requires your name, details and CAT enrollment number. Candidates appearing for the final year are also eligible to apply for the CAT exam. CAT is one of the most coveted entrance exam. It is a tough nut to crack. Every MBA aspirant who is preparing for CAT must be focused and determined.

The result of CAT is announced within a period of one month. The student’s receive call from various Business schools they applied for while filling the form. Now the aspirants have to prepare for the GD/PI rounds and in the last round the results of both GD/PI and CAT percentile are combined together and students are selected based upon the combined score they secure. Following are the steps before taking admission in LBSIM:

Step 1:

All the students who want to take admission in LBSIM should appear at CAT Test at http://www.iimcat.ac.in/

Step 2:

Besides CAT/ GMAT score candidate also require to register at LBSIM, with separate application form which is available with the information brochure which you can take from College.

Admission in FSM to the 2 year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management or 2 year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in facilitated through selection process which requires highly competitive CAT scores and performance at Group Discussion & Personal Interview. IILM Admission Process:

IILM begins admissions process for PGDM full-time-2 years which is approved by AICTE. Firstly students need to fill the online application form. Once they are shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria of 50% in Graduation, then they are invited for personal interactions with faculty members after which the offer is made to the qualifying candidates.

4. NDIM

NDIM (New Delhi Institute of Management) is one of the most prestigious business school which is located in the heart of south Delhi. It was established in 1992. Selection Criteria

· (10+2+3 or 4) in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades in under graduation and post-graduation.

· Candidate with Job experience will be given additional weight age in the selection process.

· Candidates appearing in the third or fourth year exams can also apply.
