Mike

Opening up to someone is never easy, no matter who it is. In creative writing today, I had the chance to get to know Mike and ask him 36 questions. Just from these 35 minutes spent together I was able to learn a lot about him. Mike is a sweet guy who cares a lot about his family and friends, which he showed in many of his answers. He lives his life in a way where he focuses on the positives rather than the negatives, a characteristic all people strive for. He shows his appreciation for his family specifically when he said:

“I’m- I’m pretty grateful for like what my family has like done to me and like how they’ve like shaped me into who I am cuz I used to live on the outskirts of Chicago and then we moved here and if I didn’t move I’d probably go to some like- I don’t wanna say trash high school- but it’s not like the education that would help me grow today and I don’t think I appreciate what I do have but when I do go out somewhere else I realize that I do have a .. I have a really fantastic lifestyle and I wouldn’t trade that for anything in the world and I’m just glad I have everything I have right now.”

He is grateful for everything he has and that’s an amazing quality to see in a person. Not many people are appreciative of what they have or recognize it, while Mike shows that he is thankful for his life right now.
