Why are iOS users tougher to please? Because the expectation is higher. I remember working for a Mac app developer in the early 90s when Windows 3.1 was the competition. If a Mac app didn’t install cleanly and run cleanly, if you had to read the manual, right out of the box, it got slammed. If a Windows app installed without incident the reviews would all remark on it. That’s certainly not so these days, but it’s because the standards have risen for Windows apps.
Android users expect to suffer a bit more, it’s a point of pride, and the app entry criteria are looser — Google’s a less stringent policeman than Apple. But over time, expect more 1-star reviews from Android users!
