The Essence of Creativity
Ever felt quite stuck on an otherwise regular day? The mind, at times, starts to throw annoyingly let down responses to any idea; an idea which you’d otherwise readily indulge in. As often is the case, that’s the mind’s way of intimating you of having bored it enough.
Bored it by serving it with the same set of experiences over time. You might have hitched to the same playlist for over a week, or spent time with only a select set of office folks, for as long as you can now recall. From the same given inputs, there’s only so much unique insights or emotions that a mind can conjure up. It ultimately tends to switch to & settle at an auto-mode.

Often at this stage, one would fancy trying something different in his/her immediate universe. I, for one, restricted to biopics for months for my dinner time. The idea was to get the house in order, cut down the non-essentials in life & focus on things that add value through the day. Biopics, showcasing what has already transpired in this world successfully, seem to be a safe bet there.
Only a matter of time though before better sense prevails. The notion of following in the footsteps of the bygones helps to the extent of inspiring one to pursue the end of the tunnel. And boy is such inspiration short-lived. A couple of hours later & a few steps down the figurative tunnel, one would again need sort of a recharge.
It is indeed so much better to have such inspiration that is internal in nature. People tend to achieve this state at various points in their lives, but fail to sustain it over longer periods. To remain inspired oneself entails one’s own conscious efforts alongside creativity. Creativity helps one visualize the most optimistic of outcomes in the most southward of situations. Consciously limiting the mind to such desired visions, beyond a point attunes it towards an auto-mode. Only this time it is anchored for the best.
Creativity is a virtue afforded to all humans by way of a larger brain size (vs our previous counterparts, homo Neanderthals). To however strengthen those creative muscles, one needs to train them consistently with newer content- which is at times weird and quite out of the world; Something that tends to expand the mind’s very vocabulary. Wider the span of the mind’s universe, easier it is to perceive one’s most-desired outcomes & subsequently breathe them in real life.

Engaging in a work of fiction, in my belief, affords one novel way to assimilate insights from the creativity of others. Fiction, as a genre, serves to expand the scope of the mind’s creative universe and its ability to visualize a given scenario. The numerous works of fiction out there, pack an ability to furnish the widest contours of imagination to one’s mind. As varied as they are, each in itself is a true testimony to the expanse of human imagination. It thus turns out to be an excellent food for thought, quite literally!!!
