The Spirit of Enterprise Awards is Arizona’s premier celebration of entrepreneurship. Each year, for the past 20 years, the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University has recognized businesses that positively impact our economy while exhibiting ethics, energy, and excellence in entrepreneurship. The award finalists were chosen from close to 150 nominated local companies and reviewed by 13 judges. The awards luncheon was held on Nov 18 at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix and hosted by Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
Twelve Arizona company finalists — from Taser and CampusLogic to Co+Hoots and EpiFinder — have been named in the 20th annual Spirit of Enterprise Awards as local businesses who have helped vault the state forward in job creation and growth.
“We look for outstanding Arizona businesses that are innovative and are making a positive impact on our economy,” said Christie Kerner, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the W. P. Carey School of Business, in a statement. “Many entrepreneurial ventures are able to generate winning financial statements, but we aim to recognize organizations that also have a positive impact on their employees and their community.”

Neel Mehta accepted the award on behalf of EpiFinder team:
“Thank You! Thank you, everyone!
I’d like to start by saying that I’m grateful to my mom and dad, my brother, and my family. I came to the United States in pursuit of making a difference and chose Arizona State University. Let me tell you — It was one of the best decisions ever. I feel that I’m living the American DREAM right now that has been over four years in the making.
While I am the face of EpiFinder, I want you to know that this came to life because of the vision of Robert Yao and the dedication of Harsh Patel (TURN). I also want to thank my entire team, some of them are here today.
At EpiFinder, we embody an excellence and work ethic second to none; while creating value that utilizes the art of medicine through technology which enables us to improve people’s lives.
I’d like to thank ASU, President Michael Crow, Tracy Lea, and the E+I team at SkySong for their mentorship and office space.
I also want to thank our contributors and partners, Mayo Clinic, Arizona Commerce Authority, AZBio, and Flinn Foundation for their mentorship and support.
Big shout out to Christie and her team for making this possible. On behalf of my team, I accept this award. Now, let’s get back to work! GO DEVILS!”
