We were in the mood for a Mutton dinner, and decided to give BCF a shot. Yeah I know it’s all about the Butter Chicken here, but take my word, this place serves some exceptional mutton. Three dishes, all exceptional: Mutton Geeli Biryani, Tari Wala Meat, Luchnowi Shammi Kebab.

The Mutton Geeli Biryani, as the name suggests, is not the usual dry biryani that you get around town. This one is a perfect blend of well cooked mutton gravy and perfectly flavoured biryani rice. I think this was the star of our dinner.

The Shammi Kebab are basically pan fried minced mutton cutlets that melt in your mouth. Really tender and not too overcooked or not too undercooked, BCF has got the formula right with this one.

Tari Wala Meat: After having the Shammi Kebab as an appetizer, we needed a gravy to go with the biryani. The server was quick to recommend the Tari Wala Meat, which as the menu suggests is chunks of mutton on the bone cooked in mutton stock gravy. And this, again was the perfect gravy with the servers being generous enough to give us a piece of Nalli as part of the dish :)

Talking about the service, the servers were very prompt and had some great suggestions too. It is a small place, so be prepared to wait if you arrive bang during dinner time. Finally, the dishes are reasonably priced and hence not too heavy on the wallet. This should definitely be on your Bandra list.
