Listen Ladies Pt.2
This summer, when I was at a church camp, I went to a sermon about leadership. (since I want to be a spokesperson when I grow up) The message kind of went over my head until recently, I thought about what he was really saying. The pastor said women do not matter in the church.
I wish I could tell you I heard him wrong but he specifically that the church I’ve attended for all my life only cares if my father goes. The pastor said the church’s goal is to attract men and the ladies will just follow. He then told us a story how a lady did stand up for the sexist environment that this church brings out. You wanna know what he said to this lady; he didn’t care.
I wish I was over exaggerating but, how would you feel? A church is suppose to be the one place where you can feel comfortable and the pastor of it just said you don’t matter. Your mom doesn’t matter, your sister, your best friend, your girlfriend; the women who basically formed you don’t matter to the church.
So does that mean Eve does not matter? The other half of Adam. Or Ruth? Who chose to glean, despite the danger she faced in the field and the lower social status of the job. And Deborah, a prophet who brought peace for 40 years. Does the significant of these women not matter too?
Listen Ladies, do not let a church define who you are. God has made warriors of women and can make one out of you. It’s pretty clear that God could not complete his story without the help of women. So why does this church degrade us?
We were made for amazing things. Whatever anyone says about you know that phase. Listen ladies, whatever church, group, friends; whatever hostile environment that thinks they can tell you your worth, is far wrong. God thinks you are worth something, God made you a woman, and God made you strong. Screw a church who doesn’t think the same
Go kick butt in life, I’m rooting for you.
