Behance (owned by Adobe) is a network of sites and services specializing in self-promotion. Such as, branding for companies or photography. It is a great website to browse through and see many different types of designs. It also includes consulting and online portfolio sites.
This website is easy to navigate. The main page has everything you need to get where you want, or even search if you aren’t quite sure. You can click on the most popular at the moment on Behance or you can you filter to what you want to see specifically. I think this is a very easy website to understand, there is nothing that isn’t spelled out for you. The design is simple, displaying the same font for all navigation tools (Acumin-Pro).
2. Function: Amazon.com
Amazon is an American electronic commerce where you are able to buy just about anything on there.
This website is self explanatory. The main page has the newest or most popular products you can see, which is meant to entice you. The design of this isn’t suppose to be exciting for pleasing to the eye. Arial is used to make it simple and easy to understand. The search bar is prominent to make this a quick and easy experience for the user.
3. Form: Michael Manning
Michael Manning is an artist based out of California who’s site is psychedelic. The website starts with two computers, no buttons or anything. You click onto the the computers and it goes to another screen, the same aesthetic as the other. After a few click throughs you understand that its more interactive than informational.
There are no words or information to see or read, just graphics and movements.
4. Form: BluBlu
The street artist and famed muralist has a brown paper sketchbook for a Web site. If you click the sketchbook and it opens to reveal scrawled news updates handwritten in immature paint designs. You are looking into this artists sketchbook.
All the text is in handwriting, there is no formal font so it feels more authentic. This form of web design isn’t impossible to understand, however you do have to click around for a minute to understand.
