An attorney can advise others in various legal matters and help them to resolve solutions. Some attorneys are specialized that work cases related to trademark and patent laws.

A lawyer, on the other hand, defend his clients in defending his clients in court and prepare for trials. If the lawyer works as a solicitor, then he will more focus on legal work happening outside the courtroom. He will collect evidence from archives and organize documents.

Qualifications

The basic education of both lawyers and attorneys is the same,but they undergo specialization programs to acquire the necessary skills. An attorney has to earn a practicing certificate and apply for admission to legal practice after 18 to 14 months of supervised practice.

A lawyer has to earn a bachelor’s degree in law. It educates students on the basic concepts of law so that they can defend clients.

Job title

The attorneys have a few options for specific job titles. An attorney has limited options for job titles. Lawyers, on the contrary, have many job titles to choose from.

Thus, the two professions are different from each other, even though they are from the legal domain.
