I am somebody who enjoys learning especially on my own. When you are invited for The Andela Bootcamp, you will definitely find this acronym “YOYO”, You Own Your Own.

It was amazing to finally be in a place where you have the power to control how you learn and how much you want to learn.

The Andela Bootcamp is mostly self-paced but you always have a tremendous team of Learning Facilitators to always guide you. Whenever you feel stack you are always encouraged to ask for guidance. Best thing is they are always wanting to #color up your learning, so never get surprised if a facilitator comes to you and asks you if you are ok. They just want you learn. Andela gives you enough resources to put you on the right path of becoming a phenomenal Software Engineer.

You are given challenges for each day and you must submit deliverables before a given time. Imagine how much effort you will have to put in. Trust me you have to learn, and at the same time work hard to deliver. It felt hectic on day one but I really enjoyed the fact I was learning new technology and using new technology.

The Andela Bootcamp teaches you that there is more to just knowing all the tech tit bits of writing code if you ever want to grow into a phenomenal world class software engineer. For example one has to be a team player (collaborative) for them to write good code. Simple way to look at it; it is not about code, it is about you, your code and fellow Andelans. By the time you go through The Andela bootcamp, you are pretty sure of what it means to write good code and at the same time work well with other developers.

FYI, it is very ok at Andela not to know something. This created a feeling of I am not yet there but I can get there and has made me want to learn the more.
