Burnout is real. I think the reason is poor management. Often times burned out engineers are a sign of manager who does not understand that fixed deadlines and flexible scope does not work well in software development.
Probably one of the best article on startup advisory. Build what is needed, Scale when it is required.
This is a really solid piece of advice, especially scaling. Too many people think that you need to be able to handle >1M visits a day at launch and spend far too much time focussing on making sure everything scales
