We debunk the myth of the ‘early to bed, early to rise… blah blah’ and the nonsense of needing 8hours all in a nice neat block. When writing my book, ‘EMDR therapy for schizophrenia and other psychoses’ for Springer, I used a biphasic sleeping pattern. This gave me the equivalent of an extra day’s writing time per week. I found that this preindustrial pattern of sleep fitted me. The mind in this embodied state is very dynamic and that biphasic sleep fitted me for that time.
