How To Know If Someone Is On Facebook Using Their Phone Number
A few years ago, it was possible to know if someone was on Facebook just by searching with their email address. Currently, that is not possible. However, there is a way to know if someone is on Facebook even if you do not know the name they are using on the social network platform.
With the rise of Facebook Messenger, you can now find out if someone is on Facebook just by using their phone number. Now, this will only work if the person you are searching for has registered their number with Messenger. If they have, you will certainly find them.
Below are the steps you need to take:
- Fire up Messenger on your mobile device. Please note you cannot do this on Messenger For Web.
- Swipe to the Contacts Page (tab).
3. Tap the plus sign at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
4. A dialog box will pop up requesting you to enter the phone number.
5. Enter the number and tap Add Contact. Facebook will then search and let you know if the person is on Facebook.
NOTE: This sounds like a privacy issue because Facebook stores the number on their servers. However, it is possible to delete the contacts you have added by tapping the “Learn More” button in the Contact List tab.
