How becoming an addict saved my life

Nearly a decade has past since I struggled through the worst hell-on-earth I’ve experienced in my 30 plus years on this earth. Part of me wishes I could pinpoint an exact time and encounter what kick-started everything. The majority of me is glad that I won’t trek back in time to pull out memories that haunted my soul. All I know is that I made it out alive and I owe a lot of credit to becoming an addict.
