The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of art is one of the most important and largest art museums around the world. It was founded in 1870 in New York city and it includes about two million art works of different types of arts. This place might be the first choice for visiting for all those who are interested in art and the history of art. If you are interested in art or art history, you will enjoy visiting this place for three reasons; the style of building with high glass façade, second reason that is it includes a large number of art works for different types of art, third, it shows a large part of human civilization.

First, Metropolitan Museum has unique architectural style that is completely different from New York’s style of building. It is a huge building that has high glass facade in the style of Gothic architecture. This historic terrace has 19 museum pavilions that receives more than four visitor a year. Each pavilion is containing specific type of art or period of history. The last time that I went there, I was impressed of interior and exterior designs in every room.

Second, this museum has a large number of art works which is about two million art works for different types of arts. This museum contains the most important art works such as the original Monalisa by artist Leonardo Da Vinicio, Poppy board for Van Gogh as and some of the pharaonic statues as well. It has largest music hall that is made by Grace Rainey Rogers, its holds annual musical activities that provided by the museum system to establish links of cultural activities and the world’s musical.

While I was there, I felt like proud that I saw some Egyptian art and I enjoyed seeing the art works which have historical stories.

The third reason might be interesting that this museum shows a big part of human civilization. Knowing about many different cultures and different civilizations might be available by visiting the Metropolitan museum instead of travel around the world. In this museum many pavilions that have old things through the ages that show us how the oldest people used to live, those things such as clothes, tools, photos of old houses, monuments, manuscripts, musical instruments and jewelry. You can see a lot of things from the old past. While I use to be there, I saw the old from many countries and I got chance to show my kids some of our Egyptian civilization and other parents can have the same chance for showing their kids the nativity culture without traveling to their country.

In conclusion, metropolitan museum is the best choice for visiting for who are interested in art or history. This museum has wonderful building that shows architecture. This museum is included a huge number of art works for different types of arts. knowing about the old civilizations and it is most important place of art works around the world. We are lucky to have it in the US, so we can have chance to show our kids some of our nativity culture or civilization. I recommend everyone who is interested in art or history to visit Metropolitan Museum and parents for showing their kids.
