BASIC > Pascal > C++/Assembly and “pre-web” where programmers were roasted in the fire pits of “just work it out yourself”… this was a different age of programming that I appreciate has long gone.

Precisely the same path of languages I had taken (probably rather common back then).

And yes, that age of development sadly seems to have vanished. These days “we” tweak some dependency directives in JSON and XML documents and call it a day (respectively software “development”).
