Sponsoring Cats Through the SCA’s Passion for Compassion Club

Operations administrator for the Writers Guild of America, West, Inc., in Los Angeles, Emal Nessary oversees tenant relations and finances at the organization’s building and theater. Dedicated to supporting his community, Emal Nessary has volunteered with the Stray Cat Alliance, a local nonprofit focused on ending Los Angeles County’s feral cat problem.

As part of its mission, the Stray Cat Alliance (SCA) maintains numerous programs and groups that promote volunteerism and donations, including the Passion for Compassion Club. One of the organization’s distinguished clubs, its members give monthly donations to the SCA in the form of cat sponsorship. These donations guarantee litter, medical care, housing, and food for the sponsored cat.

Individuals choose from three levels of sponsorship: Bronze Tails, Golden Whiskers, and Platinum Paws. When sponsoring a cat and joining the Passion for Compassion Club, individuals select the cat they want to sponsor and provide the name that they want shown on the cat’s picture that is displayed on the organization’s website. This can be either the donor’s name or the name of a pet or person the donor would like to honor.
