Why coins?

1903 One peso silver coin minted in San Fransisco, U.S.A.

Everytime I see brilliant coins, it reminds me of my younger years.
It was in the middle of 1960s when I polished a coin using mercury.
It was fun doing it with other kids, trying to find out
who got the brightest of them all.

In school we were taught about saving money.
I walked instead of getting a public transportation going to school (10 cent one way)..
Everytime I get a 50 centavos coin, I save it and put in small wooden box.
These coins reminds me of the 1 peso coin collections of my grandma.

In the late 1980s, I left the Philippines.
In the early 1990s, my Mom told me that she found my coin collections box.
And she spend it all but she send my stamp collection.

I became a coin collector again early this year after watching
in YouTube a story about a one penny sold for a million dollar.
