Why Medium makes me tired.

I had drunk the Kool-aid on Medium.

I was swayed by the easy very simple way to enter a story. I fell for the way it looked great on my phone.

Anybody can write a story. Nice.

So I signed up and started writing (briefly) and submitted it. Okay.

Then I would spend time scrolling through Medium (and boy do you have to scroll) to find content I am interested in reading.

Besides the easy interface meaning that you only on average have 2 headlines to choose from on a 1600x900 pc screen, I must’ve punched the wrong interest thingies because most of what I get is either “here’s the secret to being super productive” or “the secret of being super productive is naps and drinking wine.”

My finger gets tired at how much I have to scroll just to see 15 articles and they are just in random order — not sorted at all.

I love the idea of Medium. I love the potential. But Medium needs to wake up and realize that our brains are trained by many years of newspapers. Give us a news section, a life section, a sports section, and a business section. Don’t make us choose between “digital” and “digital nomads.” That’s slicing it just a tad too thin.

Give us a tile style section selector at the beginning (yep a la Flipboard).

Please keep me as a reader. Give my finger a break.

Make Medium great (again). [Heehee].
