You say “libertarian leaning freedom types” like it’s a bad thing.

There is either an age where people are adults and can make adult decisions, or there isn’t. Is it 18? Or is it 21?

Finally, I don’t think the ultimate goal of public policy is to save people from themselves. Having lived in Japan, a country where people drink life fish and smoke like chimneys yet, curiously, has more or less the best longevity in the industrialized world, perhaps tobacco and alcohol are less deleterious to public health than inactivity and bad diet.

Just putting that out there.
