Making Strides with our omni-channel Payment Strategy –Now processing QR payments for Merchants in Nigeria
In August, we announced the certification of NetPOS 2.0 by NIBSS. NetPOS2.0 is the next generation POS device that provides the much needed cost benefits as well as features powered by software and apps — cash-in/cash-out, EOD report, report monitoring etc. Our roadshow through the month of August was very encouraging as the device and app were well received by all the Financial Institutions and merchants that we met with. We confirmed a few powerful use-cases and we shall be providing more updates on the uptake of the device and its reflection in our transaction reports, before the end of 2018

To continue our drive to implement a truly omni-channel payment strategy, we have been working in the background to provide an end-to-end platform to create, activate and process QR payments for merchants. The platform launches today (September 3, 2018) and we are very excited about adding this to our payment channels that already include Web (card and bank account), and POS (mPOS and NetPOS2.0).
With this platform, we are adding the following offerings;
1. Easy registration: Businesses can register by providing their business details — name, location and email address. With this a unique QR is generated for acceptance although the QR code may not be ready for use until next step is completed!
2. Easy activation: Once QR is generated, the merchant will need to activate the code by providing simple KYC checks done through the platform. We will validate by checking BVN against other accounts details provided. Once done, merchant is ready to start receiving payment
3. Merchant Dashboard: Once activated, merchants will have access to their dashboard where they can see their QR code, copy it and have a full view of their transaction data
4. Same Day Settlement: We will provide same day settlement for merchants, and this goes a long way in providing working capital for businesses to do more.
5. Store Manager (STORM) app: Merchant can download the STORM Android app which provides inventory access, and payment features including cash, POS and QR processing
The solution provides an end-to-end commerce solution that merchants haven’t had access to until now. For the merchants, the digital transformation starts by creating an online store on any of our marketplaces — WebMall, MyMall (Ecobank) or GreenMall (Fidelity bank). The inventory created on the marketplace, a mirror of physical inventory, provides inventory control across online and offline channels. With the app, merchants are able checkout their customers using any payment method and have a tracking tool to reconcile sales regardless of payment method.
In the next few weeks, we will be announcing a major partnership that allows NetPlus to scale our merchants’ acquisition journey, with the objective of onboarding close to 500K merchants in 2018 — so stay tuned!
