Couples in Happy Relationships Do These Five Simple Things.

Do you want a vibrant, happy relationship or would you prefer a life of quiet desperation?

We all believe in love and romance. Don’t you? We believe, or at least hope, that falling in love with that one special person will lead to happily ever after.

In fact, a good relationship is a mix of common values and beliefs coming together, with liberal sprinkles of some other stuff. A happy and healthy relationship has little to do with date nights and sexy lingerie. Having counseled many couples, these are the things that are essential:

The foundation for a good relationship is being self-aware.

Without that you’ll either be that couple down the road who rarely talks to each other, who fights into old age, or just gets divorced.

We have to have the ability to look at ourselves honestly to determine who we are and what we want. If, what we say and what we do, aligns?

Do you say that you love partying and being around people, when in fact you prefer quiet evenings at home and often avoid answering your phone?

Do you feel that you are a very honest person but frequently find yourself being polite and telling people what they want to hear?
