The predictable fate is that someone kills him in front of Dany and we get at least momentary Mad Queen blind rage — fire and brimstone vengeance; like William Wallace in Braveheart but with Dragonfire. For the most part, Game of Thrones doesn’t rely on these types of tropes but for whatever reason Dany is the exception to that rule. She gives good speeches, always turns the tables quickly on her enemies, and never really feels like she’s at risk. To be fair she’s is the closest thing to an Avenger in GoT. She’s fireproof and has dominion over three weapons of mass destruction. NOTE: No matter how cheesy, I am a sucker for the against daunting odds vengeance is achieved trope but I appreciate when shows are realistic enough to scorn them.
