Socialism isn’t Left vs Right, it’s only Left and Left-er.
The Right is for personal responsibility and accountability when challenged by issues; the Left is for impressing “solutions” onto its people, taking responsibilities (like free healthcare) out of the people’s hands and keeping those responsibilities at the government level.
I don’t like comparing the Nazi party to any modern day American political party or alignment (left or right) because the one thing always forgot is that at the head of the Nazi affiliation is something called “evil.”
What I don’t mind doing is analyzing some of the events and circumstances that predated the Nazi regime as well as those that took place while they held power. Certain details hold true for most socialists.
One of the key and defining characteristics is that a people that are devoid of responsibility and dependent on a government, have no power to resist said government. Being reliant on someone else to run your life and tackle your problems invites the powerful and the corrupt — an inevitable trait due to certain people’s self-interest and natural tendencies to control and conquer.
