While I know you are for the article — and I am not, for the insurmountable pile of statistical evidence that exists — I, still, generally support your message.

We are in this together. Everyone’s voice is important, which is why the voices that combat this opinion are also important, whether they are short ignorant-sounding quips, or lengthy statistical analysis. They are just as important as the author’s ignorant post that portrays a white america that hates black people. After all, being forced to be silent is a jail sentence and we all should be able to express our opinions free in a civil fashion.

Anyhow, I recommended your comment not to confront your (or the author’s) opinion, but that I respect your point of view and really enjoyed your paint metaphor.
