What is this about?
Republicans objected to Elizabeth Warren’s criticism of Senator, Jeff Sessions. She was interrupted as she was reading a 1986 letter by Coretta Scott King, the wife of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. This letter was later allowed to be read in full, BY A MAN.

“ She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.” — Mitch McConnell, on why he silenced Elizabeth Warren (read/watch)

The silencing was not an isolated incident. American women began to share their outrage across social media. This was something we’ve all experienced. McConnell’s words were not an insult to us. We stand by Senator Warren and all of the women before her, who have been told to sit down and shut up. We will not go quietly.
