2D Animator vs Cartoonist

What makes animator and cartoonist different and which one is better?

The amazing work of digital drawer and their workload. For so long many artist are confuse for which job should they applied the 2d animator which draw and animate them or create something new everyday base on their imagination. You see both of them draw for a living and each of them draw different things each day to create a story. Cartoonist are a wild job they draw whatever they want base on their story. While animator draw base on the company art preference and they must stick to one story. But this only show that cartoonist are the better option which is sadly no.

Since both of them draw why is animator are preferred since they can’t draw whatever they want and cartoonist are free as long their deadline are within range, and the answer is cartoonist aren’t free they can’t draw based on their editor liking and they don’t always choose their story which cause a lot of tension between cartoonist and their editor. Lot’s of cartoonist don’t follow their original story since the editor has to change them to the liking of their reader. While animator they just need to follow the book and listen to their higher up rather than debating with their editor which one is better which one is worse.

Most animator are a fast drawer since they must draw hundreds or thousands of drawing to create a scene. while cartoonist draw most of their story into a panel in a static way so that the reader could understand the plot. Which caused cartoonist to draw less but more meaning rather than animator which 1 frame doesn’t need to be meaningful. which is why if an animator and a cartoonist draw in a speed competition usually animator won but cartoonist excelled in their detailed drawing. so if there is one out there wanted to be an artist they need to choose which one are in their liking the panel or the frame by frame drawing. and if you choose animator you need to think can you draw fast and lots of can you draw detailed and meaningful.They are not better than each other since they have their own upper hand than each other. The decisions is yours to make for which one you loved.

An artist is born by passion and dedication both of them are the same they need hard work and passion if one are not present you cannot be an amazing artist.
