I asked Fatima Nakhjavanpur to share her thoughts about ‘being a Heretic’.

Fatima’s huge & infinite heart, her vibrant energy and tremendous life force, always makes me feel safe. Being with her is like being on a wonderful and unique ride.

What makes you a Heretic?

My optimistic and rebel nature. The fact that I believe we are in charge of our life and we can choose. Wanting to do things better, wanting to learn more to improve more and to give more. I look at many people who are against any change and want to stay in the same place and I say: I don’t want this. There is more to life than this. My philosophy is that in every living moment we are making choices and this is a huge power and from this place possibilities are endless.

Tell me what is your biggest act as a Heretic?

It was the decision to quit my job and invest so much money to step into the world of unknown by taking coaching courses where I had no idea where it leads me to. I later made another choice as a result of that which had a huge positive impact. It was the choice not to try so hard to be liked and to live my true values and say the truth (no matter what).

Tell me what is difficult for you in making a choice? What does it take to make a choice?

The difficult part is rationalizing it. Going to my head and logic and slipping back into old habits by being concerned about the consequences.

It simply takes courage to make choices.

What advice would you give to future Heretics?

Make choices outside your comfort zone. Take the risk and make lots of choices. There is no bad choice. Even the ones that look scary can make you grow and take you places.

What would be the “word” that represent the Heretic in you?
