Early Life
The youngest of three children of Dale and Kelley Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on October 10, 1974. He began racing at the age of 17, driving a 1981 Monte Carlo at the Blue Ridge Motor Speedway. He advanced quickly, winning late model and race tracks all over the South.
Rise to Stardom
In 1996, Dale Earnhardt Jr joined his father and half-brother Kerry Earnhardt in the Busch Grand National Series with Dale Earnhardt, Inc., which is still owned and operated by the Earnhardt family. By 1998, he had won three races and started his first full-time Winston Cup season in 1999. Throughout his racing career, he has collected many impressive wins and has earned several prestigious awards, including two Daytona 500s.
Life Achievements
Dale Jr has achieved many racing goals, but he has also made a name for himself off the track. He co-hosted Pumpin’ Up with Kenny Wallace on ESPN2. He has been the recipient of the ‘Rick Mast Most Improved Driver’ award and the ‘Raybestos Brakes Rookie of the Year’ award. Also, in 2018, Dale Jr was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
